• Get lost in the eyes of the smoking hot dragon king as he attempts to win over a girl who despises him.

  • From Paragraph to Novel

When I first decided to write a book in 2008, I took an online creative writing class. One of the first assignments was to craft a descriptive paragraph, and I chose to write about the moment Aspen first sees Obsidian as a dragon. That single paragraph sparked an entire novel—and despite countless revisions over the years, it remains almost exactly as I first wrote it. Obsidian was my very first book, and that moment of magic still lingers in its pages.

  • Cursed by the Swamp

Research for Circus of the Dead took me deep into Louisiana, where I spent rainy nights on a houseboat in the swamp, listening to the water slosh against the stilts and wondering what lurked beyond the lantern light. In New Orleans, I visited a voodoo witch, and as I stepped out of her shop, I had the distinct feeling she’d cursed me. Whether she did or not, the eerie energy of that trip seeped into the pages of the book—and I’ve never quite shaken it.

  • Three thousand years may have passed by women all stay the same. They fall for pretty words and give up their lives willingly. This girl will be no different.

  • Between Two Worlds

Sons of the Sand began with a single character—Gabe, a jinn caught between two worlds. In one, he’s a ruthless killer; in the other, he’s falling for the girl he was sent to destroy. Watching his struggle and growth made him one of my most fascinating characters to write. I also wove in two of my favorite places—Lake Michigan’s restless waves and the ancient, electric energy of Cairo—creating a setting as conflicted and captivating as Gabe himself.

  • A supernatural stranger steals my kisses in the dark—tonight, I finally saw him… and he’s even hotter than I imagined.

  • Supernatural Roses

The Thorn Chronicles is the only series I’ve set in my hometown, and it’s infused with pieces of my own life. The eerie, cult-like atmosphere was sparked by an FBI raid just down the street, while my own rose garden took on a life of its own as I researched the perfect blooms for Naomi to cultivate. Even the guardian and destroyer lore was shaped by my own religious background, making this series one of the most personal—and deeply rooted—I’ve ever written.

  • Shadows and Sunlight

The world of Stella and Sol was born from a single, irresistible question: What if the sun never set or night never ended? From that spark grew a land divided—one side steeped in endless magic, the other flourishing under eternal daylight. As the world took shape, so did some of my favorite characters I’ve ever written, each shaped by the light and dark in ways I never expected.

  • When I wrote this world, I knew I needed a map. And it’s everything I’d hoped for.
